Thank you for the link. it was kind of you to look it up for me.
Maybe I didn't word my query correctly. What I wondered is should I
use this document as a possible basis for my search? The names, ages
and country of origin appear to be a very close match, ie., my g
grandfather's name was Luis Sousa Bettencourt- the record listed a
Luiz de S. Bettencourt; my g grandmother's name was Candida Agusta
Silva- the record listed Candida Agusta. Are these matches close
enough to move forward using this document as a beginning? I have
gotten nowhere with my local FHC as its equipment is so outdated as to
be virtually useless. I have the film for the parish in Guadalupe,
Graciosa, but can't view it on their equipment, and don't know what to
do next; also, the last time I checked the government site Graciosa's
records had not been added. Heck, I have even viewed the parish church
on Google Earth! I've been trying to crack this nut for over seven
years; can anyone tell me what to do next?

Thanks,
Anne Bettencourt
