RE: Churches willingness to release records. I called several
churches in the San Francisco area to find baptism records for
relatives from the early 1900s and was told that the parish policy
was not to release or allow anyone to see these records for privacy
reasons. Is this a common policy?

This is a copy of the 1901 marriage book at Holy Rosary Church in
the Fox Point area of Providence, Rhode Island. It's in Latin.
Because I've researched this line, I know who the most of the
people are. What I want a second set of eyes on:
5th line: Filium Fci. C. Carneiro et Fca.______ (I know her name.
I want to know what you think think the spelling is).
Last line (not the priest, A.M. Serpa, but the line above): Antonia
de Jezus ______. What do you think that last word is.
And for those who are newer to this: This is what you get out of
the marriage book if you sweet talk them into sending you a copy
and promising to send them a donation in return. And do it too.
If I don't make a donation to this church and you call up wanting
genealogy info, they may not help you in the future. So I do it
because I want the churches to continue to help out genealogists.
FYI: Some churches record the actual freguesia/village, not just
the island. This record just had the island only.
