BTW, for those interested there is a website entitled "The Portuguese Genealogy Project of Martha's Vineyard." There is a surname list of known Portuguese families (several Nortons included), a link for "new" research being conducted on Portuguese families of MV, and, also a link for Portuguese genealogical queries - though, when I clicked on that link it referred me to ancestry.com. I first accessed this site some years ago, it doesn' t seem to have changed much. Its kind of a cooperative deal with mutual sharing of research. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
