Gail, I'm not clear on your time line.
Rosaline marries Joe and they have a son. 26 years after that son's death, they have 2 daughters. But you don't know if Rosaline married Joe? But then you state that they moved with 3 children. But that doesn't make sense because you said their son died at 26 and they had 2 daughters. So these 2 little girls could not have known their big brother. I'd wait for the death certificates to come to see if it sheds any light on your problem. Depending on when Joe died, that death certificate may state the years of his marriage. It it was 30 years, then you can subtract 30 and get the approximate year of his marriage. You may have family stories that suggest either CA or HI as possible marriage locations.
