Greetings!
Some family members are going to Sao Miguel in the Azores this summer. I'd love to ask them to check for a death record at the Ponta Delgada archives, would anyone know how much time that might take? Are we talking an hour, a morning, or the entire day? The death occurred in early 1941. At that point in time, are the records nicely typed, indexed and easy to find? And does anyone know what information might be included in a civil death record at that time? I am hoping for a place and time of birth, and parents' names. I know only the father. Thanks, their interest in family history is not as deep as mine, and I hesitate to ask them to spend lots of time doing this for me.
