I would go to www.yourislandroutes.com and see if they are on the passport list index. If they are its 3.00 to get the info from the index which will tell where he was from in in the Azores, and parents names. You can also go thru the passport registrations http://www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt/ig/registos/Default.aspx. If you find out where they were from there maybe somebody on the list researching that line.
I do have a Manuel Bento Pacheco married to Maria Do Couto but he was born 1849 he lived on the island of Hawaii then moved to Honolulu. I only know of two children there is probably more, Manuel and Maria.
