Hello, Has anyone been researching in Achadinha, Nordeste? I am looking for records before the 1700s and am having no luck. My ancestor, Sebastiao Barbosa, was born in Achadinha about 1687 +/- 5 years.
In Pedreira, Nordeste, before 1886-88, Nossa Senhora da Luz Church didn't exist; however, the local population of Pedreira went to the church in the Vila de Nordeste (Matriz de Sao Jorge). All birth, marriage, and death events for nearby villages were recorded at the Matriz de Sao Jorge. Like Pedreira, did the population of Achadinha attend church in a nearby village/town before the 1700s? Maybe the events were recorded at that church?
