Hi JR, Thank you for the reply. It is very much appreciated. I hope the records weren't lost! :(
As for the book(s) you mentioned, where can I find and purchase the book(s)? My ancestors Sebastiao and Apolonia married in Matriz de Sao Jorge, 6/5/1707. Unfortunately, the priest left out their parents' names in the marriage record, which is another blow to my research. So far, I found the following children: Pedro da Ponte Barbosa (my ancestor) Maria Izabel da Ponte Josefa da Ponte (married Adriano Torres Pimentel) Thereza Antonio? (more research required; plan to post record online) Antonia? (more research required; plan to post record online) Pedro da Ponte Barbosa married Barbara de Medeiros in Matriz de Sao Jorge, 8/17/1740? (record has water damage). They had the following children: Manuel de Medeiros Barbosa (My ancestor) Jose de Medeiros Barbosa Josefa de Medeiros Currently, I am examining all of the birth records (Sebastiao's children), hoping that they will reveal sibblings and/or other family members back in Achadinda.
