It's going to take some time for Rick and me to get through the latest
round of results. We will, and we will bug you about getting your Gedcoms
up!

It's amusing seeing people match my dad and not me (I don't have enough DNA
between the testee and myself for it to be reportable - but my dad has
enough of that DNA).

It's interesting to see what siblings share. Susan Vargas Murphy and her
brother both match John Vasconcelos. Susan's longest block with John is
8.75 cMs and her brother's longest block with John is 8.74 cMs. (A cM is a
centoMorgan, a genetic unit of measure). However, Susan's TOTAL DNA with
John is 28.93 and her brother with John is 39.65. Two siblings who share
different amounts of DNA. Shows that the card shuffle is different with
each hand (and therefore each generation).

The really funny thing.....I've know John Vasconcelos since the 90s. His
ancestry is Flores and mine is Sao Miguel. And who does John match? My
dad! John has pretty much exhausted the records on Flores and was unable
to get off the island. He matches a few people with Sao Miguel ancestry.
We're going to have to fit the pieces together to figure out how.

A good reason to have a genealogy software program and collect as many
ancestors, siblings, 1st cousins, etc as you can. You never know how you
can help someone make the connection!
