This dispensation is by first degree of afinity (if that makes sense in
english, i have no clue), which means that the groom/bride married his/her
sister-in-law/brother-in-law. In this case, Cristiano married Perpetua Rosa,
who was sister of his deceased wife.

I thought 1st degree was uncle/niece or aunt/nephew.  I would think a brother
and a sister or father/daughter would still be considered incest, even back
then. I know 1st degree is pretty rare.  I could not make out the word after
consanguinity, which may make a difference.  I'm thinking he married his
sister-in-law.
