I found 3 or 4 Manuel Cabral's living in Tiverton in the census records. I
have no idea which is the right one. I know the mother of the child and her
family moved to New Bedford shortly after the birth of the child which
makes me wonder if he was already married as he did not marry her and I
would imagine her father would have probably insisted on this. Manuel Rego
Cabral born in Sao Miguel is listed as the father on her baptism record. So
far I have not found a birth record and it seems they used her baptism
record to later obtain a marriage license. Will have to do more searching
on this one. Is there a 1919 Tiverton RI directory?
