native of the Matriz of Nossa Senhora ds Estrella, in the town of Ribeira
Grande and Council of the same name, in the Diocese of Angra, and Anna dev
Mello, occupation domestic, native of the parish of Nossa Senhora da Penha
da Franca in the village of Agua Retorta in this Council of Povoacao, and
the aforementioned Diocese, parishioners and residents of this parish,
paternal grandson of Bernardiino Jose de Andrade, and Escholastica maria of
the Holy Spirit, and, maternal [grandson] of Antonio de Mello and Francisca
de Medeiros. The godfather was Manuel Moniz Ribeiro, single, sawyer, and,
godmother Miguelina Emilia da Conceicao, single; as is custom, I recorded
in duplicate this assent which after being read and conferred with me and
the godparents who did not sign because they were unable to write. Dated as
above.
