Hi Doug, Both of my maternal grandparents were born on Pico. Their parents' trees are easily traceable on NEPS. My great grandparents from Lajes do Pico are Manuel Inacio Brum (25 Apr 1840-18 May 1922) and Maria Macedo (20 Oct 1847-14 Aug 1934). My great grandparents from Bandeiras [Concelho da Madalena in NEPS link] are Roque Faria Costa (died 9 Mar 1932) and Maria Carolina Costa [maiden name =Serpa] (26 Mar 1858-3 Jan 1894). I have purchased Ancestry DNA, but the only info I receive is Ancestry's estimate of a "match" (by percent). I'm ignorant of the different tests, but realize they may become more available in the future. Bob Ross
