Hi JR,
I am going to have to check this some more. I will check the obits after they were born and see if there is anything there. Something else I just noted that this couple had another (or a) set of twins in 1854. I am not too sure about rewriting the record for several reasons. 1. The birth does not fit in with the Manuel Cabral de Medeiros I have, it in only fits in with Antonio Cabral de Medeiros and Emilia de Jesus. 2. If it was a rewrite he would have crossed out the previous record. 3. Don't forget there are witnesses that signed the record. This is genealogy at its best. I will let you know if I find any thing else. So I would say he rewrote the record to correct the name of the father and nothing more There is only one Maria. Of course this is an educated guess, it could be there are two Maria's after all, but it strikes me as less probable. That the name should have been Antonio not Manuel. The only thing missing are the usually words to indicate a correction of the record. But since he probably knew these people, he may not have bothered to make the notation. That's my guess. JR This record has me scratching my head. The only difference in the two records is the name of the father. I have other records of Antonio Cabral de Mederios and Emilia de Jesus and this birth fits right in. -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] <javascript:> .
