Thank you for your thoughts on these records and the further insight you have as an experienced reader of records. This further confirms my thoughts that these are twins and that just a minor mistake was made in writing the name of the father on the second record. I am planning on looking at the Obito's in that parish to see if they survived the first few months in the next week. I've seen many "double" records for twins where the priest makes no reference of such. There's a strong possibility these are two different records. That the name should have been Antonio not Manuel. The only thing missing are the usually words to indicate a correction of the record. But since he probably knew these people, he may not have bothered to make the notation. That's my guess. JR This record has me scratching my head. The only difference in the two records is the name of the father.
