In looking at the Bretanha Book and the records on line I came up with this marriage http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-PD-AJUDABRETANHA-C- 1837-1860/SMG-PD-AJUDABRETANHA-C-1837-1860_item1/P128.html which is the marriage of a Jose Tavares and Maria Jacinta on 27 Mar 1854. Jose is from Bretanha the son of Francisco Tavares and Anna de Jesus. Maria Jacinta is from Gintes and the daughter of Andre Carvalho and Jacinta Rosa. I just looked at the original record for the birth of Rosa and I need someone to check but is Maria da Conceicao from Santo Antonio on the Island of Pico or from Santo Antonio on Sao Miguel ? (See http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-PD-AJUDABRETANHA-B- 1890-1899/SMG-PD-AJUDABRETANHA-B-1890-1899_item1/P148.html ) In summation it looks like we need to look at the Gentes records which should come on line in the next few months. The biggest problem is finding the marriage of Francisco Tavares and Maria da Conceicao which in either case whether it was in Santo Antonio, Riberinha, Pico or Santo Antonio, Sao Miguel the records are not on line and the films do not cover the time we need to look at (1883+).
