When you do an ancestry search, narrow the collection on the left hand side. 
You'll have to keep narrowing. I've found great stuff this way. It gets lost in 
all of the census and other information. The Daily Review had an article on me 
being bit by a dog and needing rabies shots. Cool to find!  Although, I could 
have done without the stomach shots....

For Fremont you may want to also look in the Tri-Valley Herald. Not sure if it 
is on Ancestry, but that is where my family would also advertise for Fremont 
rentals.
