His paternal grandfather Manuel Jose Pimentel, Jr-5 of Lages, Island of Pico born 27 Nov. 1872 was one of those courageous men until he was badly injured. His line is Manuel Jose -4 ... Manuel Jose "Belisca"-3 ... Francisco Jose-2 ... Jose Silveira Avila -1, so far.
We were fortunate to have visited family on Pico and Faial three times; each time we fell more in love with the Azores and its people, while checking the additions to the great Whaling Museum and Avo's house just up the street from the museum.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful information! I am sure our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be enjoying this material tomorrow on their Father's Day visit.
