Dick Eastman has a link to an article on dates prior to 1752 which can cause
confusion if you are not aware of the changes made that year in the British
Commonwealth (yes we were a part of the British Commonwealth at that time).

My question is: were the church records in the Acores effected by any
changes like this?

I can't see transcribing them wrong because all the records I have viewed
have the date written out instead of using just numbers. If you are working
with records where the date is written 2/10/46 it could be actually 2
December 1746
