My husband has decided to take up the ukulele and when he goes on to a new endeavor, he researches the heck out of it!! Days, weeks, months!! Sure wish he would do the same with DNA?? Anyhow, he discovered that this Manuel Nunes came from Madeira and introduced the ukulele to Hawaii. I know this is Azores site but I thought you might find the following interesting:
