Hi Celeste, I don´t think so. My João de Sousa Travassos and Maria Nunes had children from 1700 to 1725, in Ribeira Grande, Ponta Garça and Maia. João was born in Mosteiros and Maria in Ribeira Grande.
Maybe they are connected. João's parents are Francisco de Sousa Cabral resident in Bretanha and Ana Roiz resident in Mosteiros, Maria Nunes' parents are Manuel de Sousa from Maia and Maria Nunes from Ribeira Grande.
