Jane, I've worked with 2 other people who had ancestors from Flores, Azores who immigrated to Australia or New Zealand. I'm familiar with the databases available for Australian passenger and shipping lists. I've checked a number of databases, but none showed a "Triton" arrival for 1861. That particular year has a gap in the records of ships arriving at New South Wales.
The son's name with the de Frayer may give a clue, likely originally being: de Fraga. Who did Anthony Lorenzo marry ? Can you give some more information; his birthdate, marriage information ? With birth information he may be found in the parish baptism records of Flores at the CCA - azores government archives site Eric Edgar On Sat, Nov 9, 2013 at 9:28 PM, jane Kelly <[email protected]>wrote: > I am researching my family history and want to identify Antony or Anthony > Lorenzo who arrived in Australia on "Triton" in 1861 at age of 9 years - > this information is from his naturalisation papers in Australia and he list > his parents as and Manuel and Maria and his birth place as Flores, West > Island, Azores , Azores on these papers.
