Hermano, you're right! This summer Joao Ventura took my husband and I to the CCA office.....2 men, tiny office, tons of records, grand old building.....I'm going to post a couple of pictures of the men working so diligently on a huge project without a great many resources. So many family mysteries they've helped solve and so many ancestors put within reach of discovery! I'm so excited to think someday I'll see Santa Maria's records posted! Wow.... I remember when I would come back from a trip to Terceira with tons of photocopies of the records not on microfilm. And I paid others to get me more, never thinking it would ever be possible to get them online. If anyone were to sit in on a meeting of CCA employees, I'm sure they would come away with an understanding of just why things are happening and in what sequence. There is always some logic, but with missing information, not everyone can see it. I'm still patiently waiting for the passaportes for Angra and Horta. Maybe in another year... Do you have any idea of the resources demanded by the project, never mind the cost. It seems to me that in our zeal for family research we are forgetting what it takes to satisfy our vice. I am sure that they are doing the best that they can with the resources available to them in making (give or take) 500 years of information availble at no cost to us. Sorry, just my two cents worth. It depends who is heading this project and his/her whim as to add nextIt would be nice to know from them what they are going to do next but themselves I believe they do not know and I am sure if asked there would not be an answerLogic ( if there is one ) would be to finish S.
