Ribeira das Tainhas (the freguesia that my ancestors came from) was not part of Ponta Garca. It broke off from the Sao Miguel Arcanjo church around the early 1830s. I'd have to check my notes.
I've seen all their books, on film and in person when I was at the archives. It doesn't have anything to do with the uploading of the Ponta Garca records, although I'm sure Tainhas people can be found in PG as well as Vila Franca.
