Bride's mother's name is Maria de Macedo. Umbelina was marrying into the Medeiros Brilhante family of Ponta Garca. One of Manuel and Umbelina's sons (Antonio Medeiros Brilhante) married a second cousin of mine (Antonia Emilia da Conceicao Sousa or Paiva) 27-Dec-1855 (PG). Their child, Maria de Medeiros Brilhante, in turn, married Manuel de Paiva (another second cousin of mine) 8-Feb-1882 (PG). Unfortunately, Maria Brilhante died within 8 mos of the marriage - probably due to complications in childbirth.
