Yeah, he had to. To have a woman in house, you had to marry her. So he marries his mother-in-law, who is the kids' grandma. They had no kids of their own. I'll have to see if a dispensation exists for that one. It would be by affinity.

I had one ancestor who died in childbirth or shortly after. So the maternal grandma was called upon to take care of the kids. Now, grandma is technically the hubby's mother-in-law. Doesn't matter that she's grandma. He had to marry his mother-in-law if she was the one to take care of her grandkids.
