My mother's second cousin, Antonio C Corvello who was a New Bedford whaling captain (originally from Flores) was known to have illegally transported in the early 1900's people from the largely unpopulated west coast of Flores to the Massachusetts coast. If there was any record, (which I doubt) it would have been in the ship's log. I am not familiar enough with immigration law at that time to know how those people would become "legalized" in the US at that time. John Vasconcelos
