Hello, I see Francisco Jose, son of Jose de Resendes Jacome and Marianna Carvalha; and Engracia Maria?, daughter of Antonio Carvalho and Isabel de Melo. The priest made a definite distinction between Carvalho and Carvalha. I've seen masculinity and femininity with surnames, especially in the older records (1700's). I wish I could give you more, but my knowledge regarding this subject is next to nil
The second record: If you look closely, the name is actually Vitoria, no letter C, I know, not a big difference. Either way, Victoria or Vitoria, their both pretty names...she is the daughter of Joseph de Resendes and Marianna Carvalho(it looks like an "O" at the end. She was born on May 26, 1743, and was baptized on June 2nd. As for the godparents, I agree with what you have, plus Francisco's wife is Maria or Mariana Carvalho. This is a difficult one for me, but if you compare his Carvalho entry for the mother, Mariana, they look pretty close to each other. Maria, some of the expert readers will be chiming in soon. I'm confident they'll shed light on the Carvalho, Carvalha surname; and the mother of the godparents. Good luck!
