Re Engracia, sometimes the priest meant to write Engracia, even if it looks like Emgracia. This is true of much of what we see, except of course where the spellings reflect their time, like Thezoureiro and Rezendes vs Resendes, Jose, Joze, etc. If the priest used a certain spelling consistently, then it was the spelling of the day, or his particular spelling.
