Eric, Yes, I have that draft notice in my records. I was thinking maybe Manuel and John were the same person, but do you think that after that length of time and at his age, he would have changed his name to John? I'm still wondering why Emma is listed as head of household in the 1940 census and what happened to Maneul/John by then. Unless he was away in military service???
