Thanks, Margaret Vicente and Shirley. I thought I was missing something since all other records list Joaquim's father as Antonio de Sousa Nunes (not Antonio Nunes Cardoso), including his marriage of the previous year.
Also, Joaquim is born one year after his parents' marriage, and the following year a Manuel is born, which I thought would have been the first-born's name.
