Yes, the bride is from Santa Maria and the groom native of that freguesia.

So did you look for baptisms of children to see if one says the church in Santa Maria?

Doug,

I did find the groom’s first marriage and his parents’ names. He is not from Santa Maria Island.  I thought the record indicated that the bride is from Santa Maria. I have looked at several of their children’s baptismal records and every time it only says Santa Maria. I was hoping that Moreno might indicate a certain part of the island, or maybe someone has a connection to this couple in their own data.
