That "ja defuncta" (or ja defuncto if a male) is something like a helping verb. I think the literal translation is close to "has already died." A native speaker can say for sure. Look for the birth of Maria do Sacramento, daughter of Joao de Conde and Maria ____. And while you are at it, collect all the kids for Joao de Conde and Maria ____. You'll be able to figure out her name.
