Hello, all

The "missing" marriages book from Corvo, with the records from 1655 to 1671
has been added to the CCA site. I'm so happy for this one, as some of my
kids oldest known ancestors are to be found there. The book is here:

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/COR-VC-VILANOVADOCORVO-C-1655-1671/COR-VC-VILANOVADOCORVO-C-1655-1671_item1/index.html

These scans are in black and white, which is completely different from the
rest of the books, leading me to believe they still haven't found the
original 'paper' book, and scanned it from the microfilm. This information
is confirmed by their catalog website
(http://www.arquivos.azores.gov.pt/details?id=1013385), where it's stated:
"The book is missing from the BPARJJG.". Yes, it went missing between the
years elapsed since the LDS church first microfilmed them 30 years ago. I
still have issues that a book that survived 300 years can go missing like
that.

I've contacted Francisco Gomes with this info, and asked him if he'd be
interested in creating an appendix to his 'Casais das Flores e do Corvo'
ebook. If he doesn't, I might be taking a shot at it myself. If you want to
help, please reply to this post.

Best regards,

João Ventura
