Hi David,

 

It looks like the Livro do Priorado, where the priests used to write down the 
obligations (messes mostly) the dead or their family paid for to the church. 
There was also a kind of fraternities who took care of the very poor. Sometimes 
the fraternity owed a certain number of graves in the holy soil of the church 
where their “associates” would be buried…
