I think I heard this story about 15 years ago on the old Rootsweb Azores List.

If you are not the same person, you can google it for details.

If this is not the same person, maybe you can give more details. I don't remember seeing it, but know foreigners have settled in Terceira and have many descendants. Maybe you can say the name of this Frenchman. His name would ring more bells for me than his ethnicity.

Greetings from the Chicago area.  I am wondering whether anyone knows of a Frenchman who came to Terceira in the late 1600s or early 1700s?  I believe he may have married a Sousa (Souza?) and fathered a child named Antonio, who was born c. 1707 and emigrated to Connecticut in 1726.  Does this scenario ring any bells with anyone?
