I've been visiting Pico island and my shoes broke down. I needed to buy a new pair of shoes or sport shoes or keds. I went to three supermarkets in Madalena, Sao Roque and Lajes and I could not find any shoes for sale. I had to borrow friend's shoes to return to my country. Now I am thinking visiting again, but I'm bringing an extra pair of shoes with me. Should I bring like 50 pairs of shoes to Pico island so I can sell them to the locals? Why are there no shoes available on Pico and where do they buy their shoes from? Do they travel to Lisboa or to Germany or UK to buy shoes? Flights are expensive.
