Hi Rick, I thought I was going crazy for a minute! LOL Sebastiao and Isabel are my fathers 6th great-grands and my 7th. We descend from 2 daughters of theirs, Maria and Barbara, and you descend from Antonia if I have it all correct. I didn't realize that they were too far out to show the connection. I do show on the DNA site links with Cheri and a few others. I have connected with Altino and George as well like you said. I don't have Alexandre de Medeiros or Luzia Cabral.
My dad is the only one in the test right now. Thank you for explaining a little on how the connection might not be picked up. I really haven't spent too much time becoming well informed on this yet. I'm in the process of reaching out to some of the matches on my fathers list. I am also considering having him take the Y-DNA test but again, I'm not sure of what to expect from it. My father is Azorean on his mothers side and Madeirense on his fathers side.
