I suggest a visit to the Ilheu, the small volcanic island off the coast of Vila Franca do Campo, you can buy tickets at the marina in Vila Franca. It's nice for snorkeling there. Also there is a small museum of the Oleiros in Vila Franca, in the Vila Nova section of town by the beach, at least it was there in 2011. A trip up to Senhora da Paz will give you a beautiful view of Vila Franca, or a trip to Lagoa de Fogo is beautiful if it's not shrouded in clouds! Maria Natalia
