Sounds like fun. I would check to see if there are any holy ghost celebrations happening on the islands. When we went to Pico there was a celebration that we did not know about and we where schedule to come back on the ferry so we only had a few hours to enjoy the activities. I was looking for an older man that was a family friend but we had lost contact with him over the years. I was hot on the trail of find him when I ran out of time because we had to catch the ferry. When on Pico make sure to see the Whaler's Museum too. I forgot the name of the village but there was a place that had little shops and sold liquors of different favors but it was a lot of fun. While on Terceira we were able to enjoy the bullfights and the socialize with the locals. On Faial try to take to take a walk along the pier. It is just a short walk from the Hotel Fayal. There are messages written on the sea wall from people from all over the world. There is also a pub where a lot of people handout (World famous). I think it was Pedro's ... or something like that. Again another nice place to meet people. You are going to have a great time.
