Hi Mary, I guess I am a member of the Azores FTDNA project, since I used
them to have my DNA checked. My Azorean background is through my paternal
grandfather, Joaquim Inacio Neves. He was born in Ribeirinha, Pico, in 1875. My
paternal grandmother was born in California, but her father, Manuel Marion
Jacinto, was born in the Azores in 1853. I don't know which island he was from,
but he immigrated to the Sacramento area as a young adult. Both my grandfather
and my great grandfather were farmers. Let me know if any of these fit into

grandparents were from Sao Jorge, Azores. One of my grandmother's cousins was
born in Brazil and came to the US so his parents must have lived in Brazil for
a while. But I don't know where.
