I have come across what may be important information for Portuguese Hawaiian researchers who lived in the Punchbowl area. It appears to be a list of land requests with names, whether there applications were honored or denied. It appeared in the O Luso newspaper.
I will be transcribing the names for yourislandroutes.com. But, I want to make sure that I fully understand what the article is about. I don't plan to translate the whole thing, but it would be great if someone could help me with the headline and the lead paragraph. I kind of have the idea, but my word for word translation leaves a little to be desired. Could someone help me translate this? A Questao Das Terras Do Punchbowl Reuniao Importante na Sala da Lusitana Sabbado Passado Listas Lidas dos Nomes dos Applicantes Para Lotes os Que Teem Direitos Preferenciaes Aquelles Cujas Applicacoes Estam Ainda sob Consideracao e Outros Cujas Applicacoes ja Foram Rejeitadas *I've typed it as each line appears Given the names on the list it appears that this was an offering primarily to the Portuguese community.
