I only know that you, me, Shirley Allegre, and Salli Souza James descend from Manuel Furtado and Marianna da Trindade (of the Vila Franca area). If anyone else is a descendant, I don't know about it or I've forgotten.
In theory, we *might* be able to match a segment to an ancestor. However, since we have a tendency to be endogamous (intermarried), it will be a bit more challenging. That's why I need to know who descends from this couple. And how many times. As for Manuel Morais and Margarida Teixeira, I don't know yet. I'm working through couples who had a child named Mariana who is the right age to be our Mariana. There's 20 of them. Some list members may have some of these 20 Mariannas in their genealogy program and may know that they died small or married some guy NOT named Manuel Furtado. As I work on eliminating some of the Mariannas, only a few will remain. Then we can compare our DNA to those of the remaining Marianas and hopefully figure it out.
