ROSA TOMASA DUMAS (LIMA) MACHADO I am trying to find out more information about Roza/Rosa Machado.
Rosa/Roza Tomasa Dumas LIMA was born on October 31, 1857, in Pico, Azores, Portugal. She married Domingo Homer MACHADO on May 14, 1874, in Calheta de Nesquim, Azores, Portugal. They had nine children in 18 years. She died on December 10, 1930, in San Luis Obispo County, California, at the age of 73, and was buried in San Luis Obispo, California. Her children were the following: Francisco "Frank" MACHADO 1874–1957 Manuel MACHADO 1876–1963 Maria "Mary" MACHADO Mello 1879–1941 Rose MACHADO Williams 1880–1964 Amelia MACHADO Lewis 1884–1963 Domingo "Jinx" S. MACHADO 1885–1966 Filomena "Amy" MACHADO Cardoza 1889–1968 Joaquin Homem MACHADO 1890–1971 John MACHADO 1892–1965 She was the sister of Antone Joaquin "A.J." LIMA, who was born on June 25, 1852, in the Azores. A.J. Lima was my GGGrandfather. I am interested in finding out as much as I can about the Limas of San Luis Obispo in general. I am told that my GGGGrandmother - Maria da Gloria PIMENTEL Lima (wife of A.J. Lima) helped start the UPPEC Chapter in San Luis Obispo. Any tips on places to look regarding information in the Azores or immigration of the Limas to the U.S. would be great.
