I would say Afonso Lourenço is named (mentioned or cited) by his son-in-law
Tomé Vaz Pacheco

Afonso Lourenço is appointed as well by his son-in-law Tomé Vaz Pacheco in his
testament of 05-09-1516, in which he is claimed to be his father-in-law and is
already decased.

I'm translating RR and not sure if I've translated the following sentence
correctly...I'm having a problem with a sentence in R.R. I'm not sure of the
translation and would love it if someone could help.
Here is the entire Portuguese text followed by my translation with the area in
yellow highlight where the translation is "iffy".
('Arquivo dos Açores', Vol. I, página 315). Segundo Frutuoso foi c.c. (casado
177"Afonso Lourenço, whom Frutuoso also called João Afonso Lourenço, but whose
real name is Afonso Lourenço, as he was called in a libel (libelo) that his
grandsom Gaspar Lourenço proposed to his uncle (of Gaspar Lourneço) Domingos
Afonso,  a libel (libelo) that was judged in Lisbon March 17 1558. Afonso
Lourenço is also named thus by law  (son-in-law) Tomé Vaz Pacheco in his
testament of April 9 1516 in which it says (or he says) he to be the
father-in-law and is already deceased. Afonso Lourenço came from Portugal to
the island of São Miguel, where he was Procurador do Número (Attorney of
Number?). His appointment was made July 12, 1492 (“Archivo dos Açores”, Vol. 1,
page 315). According to Frutuoso he was married to Joana Pimentel or Joana
Lourenço Tição, but Dr. Ernest do Canto says that her name is Branca Gonçalves,
and it actually seems to be that the latter is her real name, that is cited in
the libel referred to above." R.R., Chapter 9, p 177Thanks.
