Hi all, Just thought I would let the list know about how MyHeritage website lists their names in genealogy trees. I was told by a teacher of genealogy to enter my tree in all of the sites that have this available: MyHeritage, PastTimes, FamilySearch and Ancestry as they all have different search parameters and data bases to search (and they all have free access except Ancestry). I decided to start putting my tree into MyHeritage. Now, it's okay *except* that they list the females by their married name with the maiden name in parenthesis. This is bad for the Azores because most, as we know, do use a married name! This is okay in the US but not okay with our Portuguese names nor my Italian side! I've emailed them but I don't believe that it will make any difference, just wanted you to know this quirk in case you are planning on entering some of your names into these 'other' genealogy sites!
