Thank you Julio! That is exactly what I have. Even the note to the ancestors of Manuel Goncalves and Maria de Sousa. That info was sent to me by a genealogist from S. Miguel who consulted those manuscripts. But I have my doubts if this is true. For diferent reasons. One of them being that I never found in Maia a birth of a Manuel, to a Francisco Goncalves and Margarida Cabral, by 1694 they had baptized 3 children and none was a Manuel. My Manuel had a child in 1709, even if Francisco and Margarida had a Manuel in 1695 would make him a parent at 15 years old, not impossible but very unlikely. Also the fact Francisco already had a son Manuel from first marriage makes me even more doubtful.
