Mary, did you try Horta, just-in-case? Barbara Micklenberg found an Isabel Azevedo getting her passporte March 16th and she found her on the passenger list for the Peninsular for NY landing March 19th so, it looks like in the time frame you are searching it took 3 to 4 days. Prior to steamships it took a week or so.
