No, 11 year old boys did not marry. I'll have to find my notes...Joao
Ventura, the archivist, said something along the lines that the groom
didn't marry until somewhere around 18 - and only those that were well to
do. The others (peasants) waited until they were in their 20s or older. I'm
pulling this off the top of my head, so if someone else has notes from
Joao's lectures, let me know. I'll keep looking too.
