Personally, I wouldn't give them all the background on your search. It has
nothing to do with them searching their records. I'd make it a very short
and simple request. I edited yours and added some stuff in caps. Just my
take. Do what you like.
I have been trying to find information about Maria De Christ Moraes BORN
ABOUT ______ IN SANTA BARBARA, SAO MIGUEL ISLAND.
She married Filippe Perreira Da Silva on November 27th, 1909 in St.
Mary’s Church, Bristol, Rhode Island.
I have recently been told that at the time of marriage birth,
baptismal and previous marriage documents were collected and placed in
closed files along with premarriage questionnaires in case an annulment is
sought later on. I have been told that Maria would have had to provide a
baptismal certificate from the “old Country” before the marriage.
Is it possible to search those records to find the place and date
of Maria’s baptism AND HER PARENTS' NAMES? In addition, I have seen some
church books where information of this type is written in the marriage
BOOK.
========================
I wouldn't mention you have some type of certificate already. It might get
your request set aside because it appears you already have the information
from them. Just my 2 cents. Cheri
